Ralph W. Boaz presents a half-day workshop “ATC Equipment for Your ITS Needs Today and for Your Future” at the IMSA Forum and Expo 2019 in New Orleans, LA. In-depth training on all Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) standards. Demonstrations of multiple applications running concurrently on a single ATC unit using the ATC Application Programming Interface (API) software. Demonstration of the new ATC Cabinet system.

Ralph W. Boaz presents “ITS Standards for the Coachella Valley Association of Governments” at the CVAG TSM&O meeting in Palm Desert, CA. Discussed creation of a modern and sustainable transportation infrastructure using Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) and National Transportation Communications ITS Protocol (NTCIP) standards.

ATC 5401 Application Programming Interface Standard v02A is accepted by ATC Joint Committee as a Recommended Standard. The standard is to be distributed to AASHTO, ITE and NEMA formal balloting and approval in September 2019. The primary purpose of this development is to make updates based on the API Working Group decisions and software development during the API Reference Implementation (APIRI) project completed in 2016.

ATC 5201 Advanced Transportation Controller Standard v06A is accepted by ATC Joint Committee as a Recommended Standard. The standard is to be distributed to AASHTO, ITE and NEMA formal balloting and approval in September 2019. The primary purpose of this standard development is to make corrections and additions to the ATC Standard that remove ambiguities and barriers to software portability and hardware compatibility.

ATC 5301 ATC Cabinet Standard v02 is Jointly Approved by AASHTO, ITE and NEMA. The standard defines a transportation field cabinet system that doubles the I/O in the same space, provides touch safe design for technician safety, has low voltage option for public safety, increased signal monitoring capabilities, and most assemblies are replaceable while an intersection is in flash.

Ralph W. Boaz presents “ITS Standards Update 2019” at the 2019 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Presentation was part of the Technology and Standards Subcommittee Meeting, AHB25(4). Discussed status and developments on all Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) standards and selected National Transportation Communications ITS Protocol (NTCIP) standards.
